LADIES’ DOUBLES GOES DOWN TO THE WIRE

This year’s Ladies’ Doubles turned into a close-run race, with Shena Harknett and Rachael Sharland coming out on top by a margin of just one game.
Chris Firth and new member Anna Crosse were second, with third place also won narrowly by Mary Hughes and Helena Trump.
Thirteen players turned out for the event, prompting some nifty organisational juggling from Maggie Andrews – particularly when Chris Field went out after a painful fall.
Coffee, tea and cakes were consumed in quantity in what was a fun morning of impressive tennis.
